Let me first say
that all of Revelations is speaking of a past event...the destruction of
Jerusalem in AD70, but the reason I am using it here is to show you just how
similar conditions are today to that of 2000 years ago. I feel strongly that the
Lord is using this scripture again today to tell us to withdraw from apostate
religious institutions that are destroying our souls with man made laws
and beliefs, just like the Jewish leaders were doing at the time of Jesus.
Let us begin...
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying,
Come forth, my people, out of her, that ye have no fellowship with her sins, and
that ye receive not of her plagues:
This
is Jesus sending a warning to those who might believe in Him and who are still
in Jerusalem just before He would come in all His glory to destroy that evil
city. The city whose sins reached heaven, and the city who hung Him on a cross
to die. I believe this also still makes for an enormous analogy on most of
today's religious institutions in the world today. Most true Christians know
that the Catholic Church has been apostate from the very beginning, but the sad
thing today is that almost all protestant denominations are following them into
perdition as well.
God our great and glorious Father
in heaven is giving us a stark
warning today because He can see
the wheat amongst the tares in the same way today as He did
2000 years ago. He can see that there are some who truly seek Him
from within the great Babylon ( lets call this the church
system today), so He is providing a warning to whoever wants to
hear it. Those who never read His inspired word have very little hope, and that
would be the greater part of Christendom, but even those who do read it will
still have to be obedient to it, so there will be many who will never even hear
this warning. Jesus said "My sheep hear my
voice", so if you don't hear, I am sad for you cause
you are either lost or lukewarm. Remember, you can't blame anybody else for your
own downfall...you owe it to yourself to be responsible and
seek the Lord for guidance. Pray without ceasing on this.
Lets look at this verse in more context starting at Revelations 18:1
through to 9.
1 After these things I saw another angel coming down out of heaven, having great
authority; and the earth was lightened with his glory. My
first thought is Jesus, but possibly its Michael. I confess I do not know for
sure. Jesus has ALL authority but it only says 'great' authority here, so your
guess is as good as mine.
2 And he cried with a mighty voice, saying, Fallen, fallen is Babylon the
great, and is become a habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit,
and a hold of every unclean and hateful bird. Many so
called scholars deduce this
Fallen, fallen to mean that
this symbolic Babylon has just been destroyed here, but it has nothing to do
with being destroyed at this point, it is talking about how far it has fallen
from grace, how far it has separated from God by its sins. The same way Satan
had fallen when God sent him packing. If we were looking for a modern day
Babylon, we need look no further than the Roman Catholic church and all her
blind protestant followers who partake in her Babylonian practice. e.g.,
celebrating Christmas and Easter .
3 For by the wine of the wrath of her fornication all the nations are fallen;
and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the merchants of
the earth waxed rich by the power of her wantonness.
This shows that by her sins she (Jerusalem) had
polluted other nations around her (Greece, Rome etc) who willingly partook in
her evil ways also traded with her. As for today we could easily substitute RCC
for Jerusalem and the protestant denominations for the nations. All these
certainly keep man made days and buy and sell in what they consider the temple
(church building) of God. They fit the bill perfectly.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come forth, my people, out
of her, that ye have no fellowship with her sins, and that ye receive not of her
plagues:
Jesus is telling all those who believe in Him to come out of Jerusalem before He
destroys her, so they will not suffer His wrath along with the unbelievers in
Him as Messiah. Now to contrast this with modern day, we could say this same
message would go out to all those within apostate churches. This would
incorporate all those teaching man made laws and those still holding on to the
old covenant. For example; those mandating tithing and keeping Sabbath etc and
those keeping man made holidays in the name og God like Christmas, and Easter.
Do you
really think God needs a building to talk to you? No sir, so come to Him one on
one that He can speak to you personally... and not through a man with a white
collar around his neck and all his fancy dress. God don't charge for the
information He reveals to you like the church does. Jesus said..."You can't
serve two masters", so serve God, not the church. The church today lead by the
RCC and the World Council of Churches (WCC) is way off the truth and will of
God, and so all you have to do now
is shake the dust off your bible and read it to find
that out.
5 for her sins have reached even unto heaven, and God hath remembered her
iniquities. The sins of the RCC and her daughters the WCC,
just as Jerusalem did in Jesus time, have become so
great today that I believe God will
very soon intervene for the sake of the elect. If He didn't,
then eventually all his children would be lost in future generations
to the false teachings of the religious bodies today.
In all history, there seems to become a time when for the sake of truth, God has
to intervene to prevent the world from passing that point of no return. We see
the great flood, the destruction of Jerusalem, the dark ages, and the world wars
as evidence of this.
6 Render unto her even as she rendered, and double unto her the double
according to her works: in the cup which she mingled, mingle unto her double.
God is telling those mistreated by those hypocritical Jews
back then to give her back twice as much as she gave them. It has no relevance
today at all, because under the new covenant we are to forgive all and love all,
but back then, Jesus was about to come again in glory (2nd coming) as the wrath
of God, to fulfill the incoming new covenant. The wrath of God on the Jews is
the payback in double. How sweet it must have been for those who fled to the
hills and those persecuted saints in heaven, to see God's justice come on the
evil unbelieving Jews.
7 How much soever she glorified herself, and waxed wanton, so much give her
of torment and mourning: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no
widow, and shall in no wise see mourning.
For as much as she glorified herself, give her the same
amount of suffering, because in her pride she says it will never happen to her.
How wrong she was.
8 Therefore in one day shall her plagues come, death, and mourning, and
famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire; for strong is the Lord God
who judged her. But Glory to the only wise and true God, that justice
prevailed. For her unbelief
in Messiah, and for her whoring with the nations, Jerusalem was totaled by fire
in AD70, ushering in the new covenant forever. No more sacrifices, no more
Temple and no more high priest...for Jesus now fulfills all these.
9 And the kings of the earth, who committed fornication and lived wantonly
with her, shall weep and wail over her, when they look upon the smoke of her
burning, All her friends, those who she traded with, the
nations, did indeed weep over her destruction. Again I can see the correlation
with the destruction of Jerusalem back then with the world of today. The church
is no different than Jerusalem of that day. Our church is constantly unfaithful
to God bringing in new man made rules to replace those of God, and on top of
that, she tolerates evil. I can see history soon repeating itself with the wrath
of God again pouring out on the church big time. I don't how and when, I
just know it's coming. Too many of God's people are being mislead
today...something has to happen soon to stop it.
Conclusion.
God is not the author of confusion! Read His awesome and inspired word with a
new replenished and eager spirit that diligently and sincerely desires the truth
of God. Pray for Him to give you what you need to
understand His true meanings
and teachings, and then put them into practice by being being obedient to them.
When you have done this, He will reveal to you what He keeps from others.
I have not visited a church yet where I can say for sure that she is in the
truth. I see many false teachers and prophets. I see many pagan traditions
within. I see the blind leading the blind. I see pride and hypocrisy running
rampant. I see the lies that go forth from the wolves in sheep's clothing. I see
the money changers within. And I see the false doctrines that are responsible
for the causing of brother to fall, and woe unto them that do this. Man has made
their own rules within God's church (the people) and purposely twisted the word
of God to bring in the multitudes. It's all about money and power and not the God
given truth that is critical to salvation. The church all over is preaching some
of the truth as a teaser, but the rest is of Satan to give people what they WANT
to hear instead of what they NEED to hear.
How many churches do you think there would be in the world? Well if you divide
the world population by 100 people, you get 60,000,000, but lets be extra
conservative and say 1,000,000. Now multiply that figure by a lousy $100 per
weak in tithes left over (after overheads), you then get 100,000,000. That's 100 million dollars
per week to feed the poor (not the total tithe). So why is there hungry people
anywhere today? IF this money was going to the starving like they say, then
there would be no starving people, but it's not. Oh yeah sure...a small token
amount is to prove they do it, but most goes into Swiss bank accounts and
property and fine homes and cars. I have seen it with my own eyes, and you have
too I believe. While the starving die, most of these churches
get fatter and are bulging with
money.
There is only one who saves and that is Jesus, not the church, so if you believe
in Him as the saviour then pray and listen to him...not man. Your life is God's
also, not Joe Bloggs who wears a white collar
in religious garb, so be accountable to Him only.
Unless your church is teaching ALL what the word of God teaches, then it is
apostate. For starters, if you teach to keep the Sabbath ...your apostate. If you
teach it is mandatory to speak tongues your apostate. If you teach homosexuality
is not an abomination ...you are apostate. If you teach once saved always saved
...your apostate, and there are many more false teachings also. These are just a
few that are against the teaching of Christ. You can follow the various links on
this site to see why.
Listen...can you hear Jesus calling His sheep..."Come out of her now".
1Col 6:15 Know ye not that your bodies are
members of Christ? shall I then take away the members of Christ, and make them
members of a harlot? God forbid.
16 Or know ye not that he that is joined to a
harlot is one body? for, The twain, saith he, shall become one flesh.
17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one
spirit.
To be joined to the Catholic Church is to be joined to the mother of all
harlots and almost ALL Christian churches today are linked in some form to her
through tradition and the WCC.
God bless and have a good life.
