As I have walked, so too have I learned. Here is a brief list of the things I hold crucial to knowing God, apart from the obvious.

I have learned...

bulletThere is only one truth, but can manifest in  many different colors
bulletGod will let us believe whatever we want to believe, but it is only the right belief that sets us free.
bulletTo be able to know God, I must first know myself.
bulletBy knowing myself I am also less likely to judge others.
bulletI will know I have found the truth when I practice what I preach.
bulletI know I will be pleasing to God when I portray my inner as my outer.
bulletGod reveals only to those in whom He is pleased
bulletTo receive first I must give.
bulletLove the soul not the flesh.
bulletGod only reveals to those who draw near.
bulletTo draw near to God will cost much of my time, but to be one with Him will cost all of it.
bulletThat there is more to living than this life alone, so hope is in the bigger picture.
bulletKnowing God is knowing wisdom, for wisdom is a gift only from Him, and cannot be stolen.
bulletThis life is short, so a wasted moment is wasted indeed.
bulletTo seek the full meaning of every word from the lips of my Saviour.
bulletWhen my spirit is sure, my soul will rest.
bulletListening has value whereas talking has no gain;  listening can save ones life.
bulletAnger builds a bridge to self destruction. None has found life while remaining angry.
bulletBe ever watchful of the mind, it can be sidetracked before you know it.
bulletThe more true of my spirit, the less power  of my flesh.
bulletA strong spirit can beat the flesh into submission, providing they are both willing.
bulletTo seek first wisdom so that I will know which knowledge to also seek.
bulletLaziness is like a ball and chain, or a heavy yolk; it restricts ones direction.
bulletThat the fight for perfection is more than worthwhile.
bulletThat to suffer for the sake of righteousness brings the greatest joy in victory.
bulletTo be kind to all living things, for we know not the whole truth yet.
bulletThat this life is like boot camp; at the end we either live or die.
bulletThat God judges all things by motive of heart.
bulletWorldly love is only temporary; God's love is everlasting.
bulletNot to publicize my works for my employer is unseen but sees everything I do.
bulletIts hard to find a good woman, but if you do, then tend to all her needs.
bulletA nagging wife only "thinks" she has understanding, but a silent wife has already understood.
bulletIf you love someone, don't tell them but rather show them.
bulletI know I will be close to perfection when I can see a woman's leg as a  leg and her breast as a breast
bulletThat justifying a weakness or a wrong, does not make it right; all it does is make you feel right.
bulletNobody belongs to God unless they agree.
bulletNot to think, but rather  know.
bulletWhat goes around comes around is the perfect Law of God's universe and can never move or fail.
bulletThe only exception to the Law is grace, and the amount of grace if any depends on the motive.
bulletToo much emotion can dilute  judgment, so it's better to dilute the emotion in the first place.
