Worshipping The following is the text version of a lecture given by Dr Mathew Lancaster.
In the KJV (King James Version) the word worshiping is used twice, and the word worship is used 40 times. In the Aramaic/Syriac Bible the word is used 51 times. In the whole NT therefore the word worship and the act of worship is used quit a lot. It therefore is a very important topic, that needs some clarification as to what worship actually is and how one does execute this worship.
According to the Greek proskooneho, worship is reverence to God or
adoration of God, or as the Aramaic says Homage to God. (Humbling
before God, respect towards God) Worship (Eason dictionary) Homage rendered to God which it is sinful (idolatry) to render to any created being Exodus 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Isa 2:8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
Such worship was refused by Peter Ac 10:25,26 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. 26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. and by an angel Re 22:8,9 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
So who can we worship? Can we worship Jesus, who was a created being? The answer is quite obviously NO...if we take him as the SON of GOD (a created being). If we believe in the false pagan doctrine of the Trinity where Jesus is the Son of GOD only another GOD as they say, then we commit idolatry, as we are only to worship YAHWEH himself. Does it become clear now why we don’t see the fruits of the spirit, that Paul wanted to see? As in 1Co 4:19 But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord wills, and then I shall find out not the words of these men who exalt themselves, but their power. They do not have the POWER which is only from GOD, and therefore they might be ordained, but are they ordained by GOD? I myself am an ordained minister, but am I ordained by GOD? One only finds that out not by my words, but ONLY by my power (the visual power) So we have seen that if we believe in the Trinity, then we commit idolatry, when we worship JESUS. So what then?, should we NOT worship Jesus, YES of course we should, because JESUS is MARYAH, the LORD YAHWEH himself. And this then has nicely cleared up the dilemma of the trinity and the idolatry.
How
do we worship God? is now the question The key nicely fits. Christianity today is a gospel of talking, NOT a gospel of POWER. But keep up the good hope, there IS a gospel of POWER, but only one gospel, the 2000 yr old gospel. And who ever tells you about NOT keeping of the Sabbath, or not keeping of the wrongly understood law, tell them don’t speak, but FIRST show me your POWER. A visual POWER, a power to perform miracles and signs, a POWER to heal, a POWER to pronounce prophecies that are then also fulfilled. (a visible or hearable power) No power….NOT of GOD. Full stop If the church going Christians from the beginning would have listened to this advice, we would today NOT be in so much strife.
We
do not have to wait until somebody comes to Church and then bring the Gospel to
that person. We have to go in the field and approach people to bring them the
good news if we also have the visual power. We can approach them while walking
in a park, while shopping in a shopping centre. God has chosen all people to be
drawn to him, but where are the servants to bring the gospel? if they constantly
are in services than that deprives them from drawing people. I was recently in a
Church where they were 'worshipping' and where ministers of other religions were
present and asking for forgiveness and what have you, while outside on the steps
was a young man, who did not dare go in the Church to accept Jesus. GOD had
prepared him to accept JESUS, but nobody in that church seemed it necessary or
did not know that there was a needy person who had to be approached. (The Spirit
forgot to tell them sarcastically spoken) As said in Mr 16:20 And they went out and preached in every place; and our Lord helped them and strengthened their words by the miracles which they performed. By doing just that, by hearing and by doing all HIS Commandments we worship God. Amen An after thought: I wrote this once to explain what real time with God is... People mostly have no time for God. Even most Christians fall into this category. Even you and me perhaps. What I mean is, if you ponder God for your own benefit, then that is not giving time to God...it's MAKING time for yourself instead. Although this is not wrong, it still is not giving time to God from your heart. An example of this is as follows. try to picture in your heart and minds eye...You see a mama bird bring food to her baby chicks. You suddenly feel the love she has for her babies. You ask yourself (God in you), how does this pea brain bird know how to LOVE her babies with such dedication and bravery? You finally realise that she DOESN'T on her own, that it is GOD who gives her that love to pass on to the babies. Something she is born with. Suddenly (again lol) you feel a great admiration and deep deep very deep love for the One who made all this possible...our dear Father Creator God. You are in absolute awe of Him because you can see the spiritual connection between the mama bird, baby, and God. You then feel the Glory of the moment as God touches your heart with love, a payback for your praises of Him. And you say to God, thank you Father as you begin to bring forth tears of joy in capturing that very moment of agape love all brought about by the sight of a bird feeding its chicks. It feels almost too much as you again sink back to reflect on the experience you just had, and what more else you can ponder on the wonder of Almighty God. THIS my friend is quality time with God...this is what causes a person to wonder on things that cannot disappear.
