Combining poems from three previous books, Poetry To The Rescue, Love Poems and Leg Spinners and My Life, My Love, My Lasagne Steven Herrick presents a fun and easy to read novel in poems about the ups and downs of everyday family life. The book is divided into six thematically linked chapters. The stories generally revolve around brothers Jack and Joe, their dad and occasionally mum, sister, and various teachers. Topics range from the serious to the fun, following daily routines, school pranks and outdoor activities.

This book would make a great introduction to readers unfamiliar with verse novels as well as introducing them to the great work of Steven Herrick. A top read for those aged 8 to 12 years old.
