Tired of seeing those same old shows at the One Act Play Festivals year after year? Have you ever thought "That theatre company shouldn't have won first prize - their production was awful!"? Then this might be the script for you!

It's presentation night at a country amateur drama festival. With competing actors and directors in attendance, former child star and current adjudicator Alexander Kinkade strides onto the stage...

  The actor playing Philip could be older than this.

Approximate running time: 20 minutes.

Back Pocket premiered at the Gasworks Theatre, Albert Park -

“The strongest script of the season...great director...especially good.” Linda Wellington, Stage Whispers Magazine, January/February 2000, page 68.

Back Pocket was subsequently produced by HATS Theatre. That production received two Topper Award nominations - for the script, and Best Male Supporting Actor (Luke Tarrant as Philip.) It won the latter.

Laura Bradley, who helmed the HATS staging, was also nominated for the Best Director prize at the Mornington One Act Play Festival.
