Eye and Ear
protection MUST be worn at all times when on the
firing line or anywhere on the open range area where
shooting is, or likely to be taking place.

NO firearms
are to be left unattended at ANYTIME.
-
NO firearms
are to be in a loaded condition except when on the firing
line and under instruction and/or supervision of the Duty
Range Officer.
-
NO firearms
are to be handled away from the firing line except in a
designated safety area.
-
NO jacketed
ammunition may be used on these ranges. Allowable calibres
are .22 Target pistol and/or any other centrefire pistol
calibres up to .38 and shotgun target loads.

NO
consumption of alcohol is allowed in the range area whilst
firearms are in use.
-
All persons on the
range must obey the warning signs that are placed around the
range area.
-
Firearms must always
be pointed in a safe direction at all times.
-
Trigger finger must
be clear of the trigger at all times unless engaging
targets.
-
When shooting from
the bays on Range 1, all shooters are under the instruction
of the Duty Range Officer and will wait for his/her commands
before removing firearms from gun cases, loading or
commencing firing.

The Duty Range
Officer will be responsible for making sure that the range
is clear and that all access gates and doors to the range
are closed before allowing shooters to prepare for firing.
All other persons are to remain clear of the firing line and
behind the railing.

The Duty Range
Officer will check that all shooters have finished firing
and check that all firearms are unloaded and clear and
placed in a safe position before allowing anyone forward of
the firing line to check or change targets.

When shooting other
disciplines such as Practical etc; on any of the ranges all
persons on the range are under the instruction of the Duty
Range Officer.

The Duty Range
Officer will make sure that all persons are wearing eye and
ear protection and are safely behind the firing line before
allowing the shooter on the line to load and make ready.

When the shooter has
completed the stage or course of fire the Duty Range Officer
will ask the shooter if he/she has finished and then give
the command to unload and show clear, and holster.

No persons shall be
allowed forward of the firing line until the Duty Range
Officer has called range clear, forward score and patch.

Once a firearm has
been cleared and holstered under the supervision of the Duty
Range Officer the shooter MUST NOT handle the firearm
except in one of the designated safety areas. There is one
on every range.

NO ammunition may be
handled in a designated safety area. Such areas are only for
bagging and debagging firearms, cleaning and checking
firearms, practicing of drawing or taking of sight pictures
only.
