All instructors
are Firearm Licensing Services approved. The Safety Course is the
first step in obtaining a handgun licence, by law everyone wishing
to obtain a handgun licence must complete the safety course.
The
instructors will teach you all you need to know about the
present laws relating to handgun possession and use. All
information used in the course is from the approved Handgun
Safety Awareness Course a copy of which is available to all
persons who book.
At the end of
the theory component participants will be required to complete and
pass a multiple choice questionnaire. During the practical component
participants are instructed in the use of handguns and will engage
in live fire exercises. Upon completing the course successfully,
you will be issued with a certificate, the certificate is valid
for 12 months. During this time you can join an approved pistol
club and then apply for your handgun licence.
