Memoirs of Harold Brabin,
recalling enlistment in Australia in RAAF, training in Canada, Scotland, and
Litchfield, leave in New York and England, qualification as Wireless Air
Gunner and posting to 102 Squadron RAF at Pocklington. Assigned to aircraft
`N for Nan', Brabin gives details of each flight taken from May 1944 until
the end of the war in Europe. Describes bombing raids over France and
Germany, with targets such as factories, railway yards, and ammunition dumps,
and also mentions trips delivering petol to Brussels. Frequently mentions
loss of other aircraft. Includes copies of photographs and map. |
