David Mundell was a
member of Annandale and Eskdale District Council for Lockerbie from 1984-86 and
of Dumfries and Galloway Regional Council from 1986-87.
Born in Dumfries in
1962, David Mundell attended Lockerbie Academy where he was Head boy. He
studied at Edinburgh University where he gained an Honours degree in Law and a
diploma in Legal Practice. He later gained a Masters degree in Business
Administration from Strathclyde University Business School. He is a member of
Law Society of Scotland, Writers to Her Majesty’s Signet and Law Society of
England and Wales.
David Mundell was
admitted as a solicitor in Scotland, England and Wales where he worked in
private legal practice in Glasgow before joining BT as Group Legal Adviser for
Scotland in 1991. Subsequently a member of the Senior Management Team of BT
Scotland, David was, until his election, the Company's Head of National
Affairs.
David Mundell is a
former member of the Management Board of the International Teledemocracy
Centre. He is also a member for Institute of Management and the Institute of
Directors; a Director of the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce: and a member of
Crichton University of Southern Scotland Action Group. He is also an accredited
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Mediator.
David Mundell lives in Moffat in Dumfriesshire with his wife and three children - Oliver, Eve and Lewis.
