Ray
Pereira is recognised as one of Australia's premier percussionists.
Born in Sri Lanka, Ray is a versatile musician who plays and records
with many leading Australian and International artists.
Specialising in West African, Afro Cuban drumming and Percussion,
Ray conducts regular clinics and workshops throughout Australia
and is endorsed by Latin Percussion.
He
has played and recorded with jazz singer Vince Jones, US saxophonist
Arthur Blyth, award winning film composer David Hirchfelder, leading
Australian singers Kate Ceberano, Cristine Anu, Paul Kelly and
award winning Indigenous artists Yothu Yindi and Archie Roach.
He has also recorded percussion for the Opening Ceremony of the
Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Ray
performs regularly with Ghanaian master musician Nii Tettey Tetteh
and his group The Kusun Ensemble when they are visiting Australia.
He also leads his own percussion ensemble Bongo Fury. Ray
leads study tours to West Africa with Nii Tettey Tetteh and they
have produced a series of instructional drumming videos.
