Travel to Ghana and study West African Percussion, Dance and Song with some of Ghana's finest musicians and dancers.

This tour is for all levels of students
Join us for the 2009 KUSUN STUDY TOUR, to Ghana, West Africa, from August 7th - September 7th.

Experience four weeks of intensive workshops, tuition and performances in drumming, dance and singing. Live and study in an idyllic location on West Africa's coast. Get to know a community who will share their culture with you. Take part in performances and ceremonies. Students of any level are welcome.

Your hosts - Ray Pereira and Nii Tettey Tetteh

NII TETTEY TETTEH started playing flute and percussion with traditional cultural group 'Ebani Sounds' at the age of 16. He was a founding member of the internationally acclaimed PAN AFRICAN ORCHESTRA. He now leads one of Ghana's most innovative groups 'The Kusun Ensemble' which successfully combines traditional music with more contemporary trends. The group has travelled extensively through the US and has also performed in the UK and Australia.

RAY PEREIRA has been collaborating with Tettey on a number of projects since 1994. Now based in Australia he is recognized as one of the country's leading percussionists, performing and recording with many leading jazz and contemporary artists. Ray has studied traditional drumming and percussion techniques in Cuba, New York and West Africa. Ray has taught 1000's of students around the world and his percussion school is the most popular of its kind in Australia. With years of experience, Ray is known for his ability to break
