Welcome to the RVIB Ski Club Web Page.

The RVIB Ski Club provides an opportunity for vision-impaired people and their families to experience the Victorian alpine region all year round.

The club is entirely run by volunteers and is a non-profit organization.

Please be aware that the Ski Club is not part of Vision Australia, it is a separate entity connected through a common history.

The Ski Club aims to assist everyone to enjoy the Victorian alpine area and to provide community support through club members.  We encourage members and their families to connect together through Member weekends and through the year we run social functions to provide networking opportunities within the club.  The club does not exist to provide transport or guides.  Working together as a community we do aim to assist in these areas, however this generally occurs by networking within the club and members working together.

We are currently developing plans for 2010 and beyond.  We look forward to encouraging and supporting Vision Impaired people and their families to enjoy snow sports.  Our current focus is to create ties on Mt Buller, and Mt Baw Baw to provide accommodation possibilities through the club

After 32 years in partnership in the lodge on Mt Baw Baw with RVIB (now Vision Australia) this relationship was abruptly terminated in January of 2009.

After many months of discussion the lease for the lodge was surrendered by Vision Australia to the Mt Baw Baw Resort Management Board in July 2009.  The Mt Baw Baw Resort Management Board has informed the club that they will not be reissuing the lease to any parties and do not recognize any claim to the property by the club.  After many months of further debate the club removed all property from the lodge in February 2010.
