There are many myths about DVD burning:                              

1. Some DVD Burners cannot make DVD movies (False)
2. Even if they could, CSS protection prevents any duplicating (False)
3. There are no programs that offer the removal of CSS protection (False).
4. You can make an exact copy of a purchased DVD without compressing it first (False) 

This site has gathered together all the tools you need to successfully backup your own DVD’s it includes programs to both compress and burn the original DVD’s.

This quick and easy, two part back-up process is as follows:

Step One:

 ALL Purchased DVD's have CSS protection and NO "stand-alone" DVD burning program can create exact copies without this protection removed.

I personally Recommend Using a small yet extremely effective program called ANYDVD. 

This program runs in the system tray (indicated by the fox logo). While running it removes all CSS protection, Regional protection and many other Duplicating hindrances.

ANYDVD WALKTHROUGH

1. Download Copy of Any DVD From Link above                                      

2. Install ANYDVD and Reboot you computer

3. Run the application (You can check that it is running By The fox icon in the System tray).

4. Adjust the DVD Region if required by double clicking on the system tray icon. 

Step Two:

  Now the CSS protection is removed some DVD duplication software is required. 

I recommend using CLONEDVD.

CLONEDVD WALKTHROUGH

1. Install CLONEDVD and Reboot your PC

2. MAKE SURE ANYDVD IS RUNNING WHILE YOU BURN YOUR DVD'S THROUGH CLONEDVD

3. Open CloneDVD and Click "Clone a DVD".

4. Locate the required DVD in the "DVD video file" bar.                      

5. Remove Un-wanted Video Segments to increase compression quality
 (These are Usually ad's or Trailers) And Click Next.

6. And Click Next to the following two screens (These settings should be left at Defult)

7. When Ready Click 'Go" on the last screen 

8. DO NOT use the computer while the DVD is burning.
