Granite Rock

Here we have a G class in the new Brindabella Railway livery collecting a V/Line grain wagon from the feed-lot siding. This is a sure sign of the grip the drought of the early 90s had on the Queensland wheat belt, with it being almost unheard of that grain would have to be railed from "down south". Still, the dramatic drop in haulage has shelved plans for big new engines, so some of the smaller Alcos survive another season.  While all this is happening, Rob Carpenter of Aust-N-Rail models is busy in his shop in the foreground making N scale versions of the wagon slipping past behind his building.
