Here we have a G class in the new Brindabella Railway livery collecting
a V/Line grain wagon from the feed-lot siding. This is a sure sign of the
grip the drought of the early 90s had on the Queensland wheat belt, with
it being almost unheard of that grain would have to be railed from "down
south". Still, the dramatic drop in haulage has shelved plans for big new
engines, so some of the smaller Alcos survive another season. While
all this is happening, Rob Carpenter of Aust-N-Rail models is busy in his
shop in the foreground making N scale versions of the wagon slipping past
behind his building. |
