Wired enclosure containing 2 tents at rear of billets (Cairns Civil Lockup) for cell accommodation.

Duties performed additional to routine.
May 24th Meals and guard provided for 27 S.U.A. ex Townsville waiting transmission to units.
1100 to 1900 hrs. 2 Cpl’s on wharves for supervision of cargo during unloading from ship.
25th 0100 to 0800 hrs
0900 to 1600 hrs
2 Cpl’s maintained on wharves for supervision of cargo during unloading from ship.
0815 hrs. 4 Cpl’s escorted 21 S.U.A. per ADC trucks to 2 Aust. Corps Pro Coy headquarters.
1030 hrs. 3 Prisoners escorted from Redlynch to ship; to rejoin unit.
1900 to 2130 hrs. Sgt and 5 Cpl’s duty ref transhipment of troops train to ship.
26th 1430 hrs. 1 Sgt and 5 Cpl’s duty ref transhipment of troops N.T. to ship.
27th 0900 to 2130 hrs. 4 Cpl’s maintained in holds of ship during discharge of cargo ref pillaging.
28th 0900 to 2130 hrs. 4 Cpl’s maintained in holds of ship during discharge of cargo ref pillaging.
29th 0900 hrs. Continuous 24 hour duty of 4 Cpl’s maintained in holds of ship during discharge of cargo ref pillaging.
1500 hrs. 2 Cpl’s to Mossman for weekend duty.
1500 hrs. 2 Cpl’s to Babinda for weekend duty.
1530 hrs. 1 Sgt and 5 Cpl’s duty in transhipment of troops N.T. to ship.
30th Continuance of 24 hour duty of 4 Cpl’s in holds of ship during discharge of cargo ref pillaging.
Attention paid to standing vehicles unattended, G2’s checked.
2 stolen vehicles recovered during week.
6 short sentence prisoners continuing with grading of hillside for the erection of tents, at Holding Centre, Freshwaater.
Behaviour of troops has been good, no disturbances noticed, nor reported with Australian troops in Cairns.
One incident encountered at a dance hall near Babinda. Report not yet to hand.
Attention has been paid to improvement in standard of dress.
