Mansfield 38 Class – TCS MI

Josh Beveridge 30/8/2005

The Mansfield 38 class has a cavity above the motor inside the firebox. It is not big enough to put a TCS T1 in there, but it’s large enough for a TCS M1. The decoder will be taped to the top of the motor.

Step One: Separate the body from the chassis. Unsolder the wires from both the motor terminals and where they attach to the chassis.

Step Two: Secure the decoder to the top of the motor. Solder the Orange and Grey decoder wires to the motor terminals. Then solder the black decoder wire to the tender drawbar solder pad and solder the red decoder wire to the chassis.

Step Three: Bundle up all loose wires and tape them to the decoder. Program the decoder , test run and reassemble.
