Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture College
The objective for the establishment of the Traditional Chinese medicine and Acupuncture College in Perth (here after called "the College") is to provide specialized education and training to suitably qualified students with the "necessary professional knowledge, skills and ethics in relation to the practice of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture.
Students are required to study both the theoretical and practical aspects of traditional Chinese medicine and to learn and acquire the necessary knowledge and practical skills to proficiently diagnose and treat varied diseases and illnesses. The students are also required to study and equip themselves with certain essential knowledge concerning the modern medical applications and practices.
Institutional Training Requirements
Students must adequately learn and acquire the necessary knowledge on the fundamentals and theories of traditional Chinese medicine and to equip them with the necessary practical diagnostic and treatment skills.
Courses and Period of Studies and Training
Specialized traditional Chinese medicine. Acupuncture and Moxibustion, 4 to 5 years
Science of 'Tuina' (combined physiotherapy. chiropractic and massage)
Application of the science of traditional Chinese medicine (medicinal herbs) 3 to 5 years
Subjects: The basics of traditional Chinese medicine. The basics of modern medicine. Human anatomy. Traditional Chinese diagnostic techniques and skills.
Science of traditional Chinese medicine differentiation and application)
Science of T.C.IH, formulas: application of appropriate formulas for treatment
Internal medicine of T.C.M. Surgery of T.C.'W, Gynecology of T.C.M.
Pediatrics of T.C.M. Acupuncture 2k Moxibustion. Science of 'Tuina'
Basic Requirements
Strengthen the teaching of the basics of traditional Chinese medicine and ancient Chinese medical theories and practice with special emphasis on the use and application of the unique traditional technique of methods of diagnostics and healing of diseases. Encourage students to become independent thinkers, researchers and discovers of net knowledge and technique in the medical science and practice.
