My name is Jane Ireland and I am an experienced mother and fully qualified birth doula having completed training with Optimum Birth in 2007. I provide an AFFORDABLE DOULA SERVICE to the women of Adelaide, working for love rather than money. I believe in offering a service which is affordable to everyone. My services are not free, they are affordable. I do this because many women want extra support during their pregnancy and birth but due to financial restraints, may not be able to afford a doula. No woman should be disadvantaged because of their financial circumstances. My services include continuous physical, emotional, practical and informational support to aid you in making the right choices during your pregnancy and childbirth.

I have been an active member of the birthing community in Adelaide since 2002 and have practiced independently as a doula since 2007. As your doula, I work solely for you and your needs, providing care which is compassionate, understanding and with love. I specialise in both hospital birth and homebirth as well as VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean).

As a doula, I truly believe my calling in life is to help women and their babies experience safe, positive and empowering births. I believe in a woman’s natural ability to give birth, providing she feels comfortable, safe, is given enough time, and has the correct support and encouragement from her chosen birth support team. My aim is to provide the mother-to-be with support and encourage her confidence so that she believes she can do it! My overall aim is to help you achieve the best birth experience, whether you choose a natural birth, a medically assisted birth or an elective caesarean section. It would be an honour to support you and your partner during your pregnancy and birth experience in the capacity of doula.
