Professional Experience

·         Permanent part-time position on Clifford Sadlier Ward (30 bed acute medical).

Summary of Duties Includes:

·         Co-ordinated regularly at ward level and precepted graduate nursing staff.

·         Primarily acting as team leader managing a case load of between 5 and 15 patients

·         Formulated nursing care plans in collaboration with other members of a multi-disciplinary team and         involved family members in care planning where appropriate.

·         Involved in assessment procedures / ongoing assessments.

·         Initiated and participated in patient education, particularly in a rehabilitative capacity.

·         Liaised with various allied health care professionals in relation to patient education and management

      of care viz:  Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, dietician  speech pathology, diabetic
