FLASKS
These are various steel flasks that I use. The largest measures around 1.6 metres long which is used for casting large steam loco number plates. Note the steel dowels used to align them when assembled together.
These timber flasks are quick and cheap to make, they are ideal when I run short on the more robust steel flasks and I have a large run of castings to do. Although I didn't expect them to last very long some are over 10 years old. Note the use of wooden dowels to align the two halves, very quick and easy
One of my new aluminium flasks just cast and fettled. These are around the same size as the larger wooden flasks but will last alot longer.
