Despite repeated requests, the congregation has not been able to provide very much information about the history of the parish. However, there are some archives available at the Diocese office which you can find here. In general, it seems that Kilcoy-Woodford has always been a very quiet and humble parish and served the needs of the small dairy-farming and timber-harvesting community that settled the area. After the rail link to Caboolture closed in the mid-1960s, the area became quite isolated. Now, in the twenty-first century, the area is starting to modernise. Woodford is attracting various music festivals and new industries are emerging in Kilcoy. With these, a number of housing estates are being developed that are helping to transform the area from a country town into an outer suburb of the Caboolture Shire. With this transformation comes challenges and the parish is seeking to become more outward-looking and to meet the needs of the new residents moving to the region. We are seeking to become a vibrant, modern Church that looks outwards and is an active participant in the global Anglican Communion.
