Many people consider music to be one of the most profound aspects of their worship. As such, we cater to a variety of needs. During our regular Sunday morning services, we alternate between playing favourite traditional hymns and more contemporary songs. The aim of all music selections is to enhance worship and devotion. Our Taizé services have introduced the simple, meditative music of the French ecumenical movement to our community. At Christmas, each parishioner votes for their three favourite carols in a secret ballot. The top twelve carols are then performed as a countdown in a special service that has proved to be very popular. Here is the songbook for the 2011 Christmas carol service. Also, in 2007, British Anglican songwriter Sue Gilmurray kindly donated some of her sheet music to the parish, via APF. These are songs with an emphasis on peace-making, social justice and Christ-like responses to issues surrounding war and the arms industry. There are also songs of praise. The parish thanks Mrs Gilmurray for her enormous generosity. Finally, every year a parishioner named Norm Kunde performs a country and western music concert to raise money for charity.
