What's this site all about....?
I am currently restoring/modifying a Chrysler Valiant Charger and saw this project as an opportunity for other car enthusiasts to follow a project from start to finish. I hope some of you viewing this site learn as much as I have through the project.
The car is a 1974 VJ Charger XL. It left the factory as a 245 Hemi single barrel automatic. I first purchased the car back in 1989. After owning it for a year I replaced the engine with a 265 Hemi with 350 Holley and a mild cam. The car won two awards at the inaugural West Australian All Chrysler Day on 19 January 1992 - best presented VJ Valiant and Runner Up Best Charger - an event that marked a long term plan for the car. In 1993 the car was taken off the road for a full rebuild. Due to circumstances that rebuild only began in January 2002.
