| The
slotted discs have been fitted up front. Swapping the discs onto the hubs
and fitting the wheel studs is not a job you can do easily yourself so I
called on my local mechanic to help out. I did install the new wheel
bearings and perform the final fit myself however. Also shown below in the
reconditioned master cylinder and vacuum booster for the brakes, my local
brake place took extra care to do a great restoration on them for me. I
have started gathering engine components for the car, the first to arrive
was the superb Romac harmonic balancer, this is a stainless steel/alloy
piece designed for all out performance, and it really looks the part! |

| The pic above
of the wheels and tyres was to see how they look,
the wheel nuts are not back from the chrome platers so I can't put them on
and drop the car onto the ground just yet! I have also got the drive shaft
back from Veem Engineering, balanced and fitted with new universal joints
Below you can see the new black door trims from Classic
Car Interiors compared with the ratty old brown ones. Well worth the money
as they are exact replicas of the factory trims. You can also see below
that I have started paneling out the boot. Each panel will be secured with
Velcro for easy access to any wiring, etc. If you look closely in the
centre picture (top row) you will see the Sony Xplod speakers that will end up
hidden behind the rear seats and there is also the aerial for the stereo
mounted there (I wanted to keep the cars clean lines and avoid an
externally mounted aerial).
The finishing off of the boot took me another afternoon
to cut the remaining panels and carpet everything. The boot panels are
secured to the wooden struts I fitted using Velcro as each panel is pretty
light and the Velcro is very strong - there is no way the panels can shake
loose. My lovely wife spent some time polishing and cleaning the spare
wheel, and then we hid all the hard work in a vinyl cover! I then fitted
the fire extinguisher I bought a few weeks ago to finish it off. I have to
say I'm thrilled with the final look and it was much easier to do than I
expected. |

| As
you can see above, I finally got all the small chromed parts back and was
able to start putting some things back on the car. I fitted the brake
booster/master cylinder and started on the boot and bonnet catches. Most
exciting of all is that the Charger is now on its own wheels! I now have the beautifully re-chromed bumpers back and
fitted, they go a long way toward making the car look complete. Front and
rear pictures are above.
I have now started finishing off what I can on the
interior before it goes to the motor trimmers for headlining and other
details. I spent some time finishing the stereo cabling and cleaned and
fitted the gear shift mechanism. I have now fitted the console and the
custom addition to house the CD Stereo system. All the carpets are now
fitted with just the final trim to go.The last 2 pictures above is of the Pacemaker headers
and the High Energy sump that
I just purchased. I also got hold of a transmission cooler too.
