 Tour Days. Voluntary guides conduct public tours within the cemetery on the first Sunday of each month, from March to November, commencing 10am & 1.30pm. Public tours depart near the corner of Necropolis Circuit & William Drive. Twilight tours are held from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Twilight tours depart from the small pedestrian gate in East Street, Lidcombe & are conducted from November until March, excluding December. Tour Days provide us with the funds to assist in the restoration of projects within the cemetery.

 

Tour prices are AUD$12.00 per half day & AUD$20.00 for the full day. Food & drinks are available at an extra cost.

  Gardening Days. Currently, the Helping Hands, who are members of the Friends of Rookwood, visit the cemetery bi-monthly on the second Saturday and last Tuesday to assist in the maintenance of the vast and beautiful gardens. This includes assisting in the care of protected Heritage Roses that grow in the cemetery grounds. The roses are propagated from plants known to be more than 100 years old. These projects are carried out under the guidance of cemetery horticulturalists and the Heritage Rose Society.
