Sample Dream Analysis Dream of August 5, 2008 at about 7.30am Woke at 7.30am just having dreamt the following. The feeling (after this dream) was rejoicing; like a breath of fresh air; new beginnings, peaceful. I just had a little girl, a baby. Midwife was holding her in a wrap rubbing baby’s back telling me it was a little girl, but I already knew that*, so it was no surprise. I leant over to kiss her (the baby) on the cheek and said “this one is for me” and said to the midwife “she is little, but she is perfect”. And she was beautiful. I then woke up. * Knew that – was NOT the result of modern equipment but it was of ‘feminine energy’ is the best way I can describe it.
In this dream I am assuming that the midwife was female, and if that is the case, I feel that this is an important dream in acknowledging a new sense of your own feminine power. The birth of the little girl represents a few things (not in any order of importance):
Another way to look at this dream is also by understanding that before you had this baby, that you would have been pregnant. Pregnancy is a time of preparation, excitement, leaving behind the old in order to prepare for a new life. It is also a time of profound growth on many levels. If we look at these themes and think of them in terms of where your life is at the moment I think that these qualities describe where you are at in making a fresh start in your life. The fact that the child is now born strongly suggests that you are ready now to take your experiences over the recent past (possibly 9 months – an average gestation period?), and to begin making more changes in your life – alternatively, it may be an ‘inner’ development that occurs around now that makes you feel that you are on the right path. The child was small but perfect, suggesting that you may feel that although things are not as big as they could be (in any level, for example your finances may not be as big as they once were, or perhaps your home, etc), they are still coming along perfectly. I think you summed up your own dream by your feelings afterwards… rejoicing; like a breath of fresh air; new beginnings, peaceful. A baby is normally labeled as a newborn for the first 6 weeks of it’s life… it will be interesting to note if you experience anything significant in the 6 weeks after this dream.
