The
Eleventh House
Prepared by Rose Glavas QA (FAA); QMBTI
Moving on from the Tenth
House where your vocation and life direction has been
developed, you are at a stage now where your individuality
is highly defined. Your personality is at it's most public
here and that's why the symbolism found here often indicates
how, and what, others will remember you for when you are
gone.
In the Eleventh House, you are ready to share
your ideals, beliefs and hopes with other people. This is
one of the reasons that this House is associated with groups
and friends.
As well as examining the Tenth
House, understanding the Eleventh House can be achieved
by examining it's opposite - the Fifth
House. This House represents individual needs, creativity
and your own children while the Eleventh represents the
needs of the group rather than the individual. It also represents
the children of other people.
Since this House represents the needs of the
group, it can also be extended to be associated with politics,
where the needs of society are taken into consideration.
Voluntary work, humanitarian and social work all come under
this part of the birth chart too.
So, through the symbolism found in your Eleventh
House you can get a feel for what themes you can expect
within your friendships, groups you belong to and attitude
to social issues in general. Your relationship with other
people's children may be described here too.
For example, let's say that you had Mercury
placed in this House. Mercury represents change, communication,
duality and mental stimulation. If you think about this
symbolism combine with some of the themes represented by
the Eleventh House you can get some interesting themes that
arise.
You may enjoy sharing your ideas between friends
and perhaps have more than your fair share of Gemini or
Virgo acquaintances (since Mercury rules these signs). It
will probably be especially important to you that you find
your friends mentally stimulating, and the same qualities
would be needed for you to be involved within a group setting.
This planet is known for needing stimulation, so it is quite
likely that you would need a wide variety of friends to
keep you mentally stimulated.
A group activity that you would enjoy could
include a debate society, or public speaking.... or perhaps
you would be involved in speaking out about social issues
- especially regarding the children of other people!
Saturn, the planet of work, seriousness and
responsibilities placed in this House may make you feel
as though you have to work hard at maintaining your friendships.
For you it would be a case of 'quality, not quantity' where
it comes to the people you allow into your life. Sometimes
you may feel inferior in a group setting, so prefer to deal
with smaller groups when you have a choice.
Friendship is a serious business for you!
Of course, these are overly simplified examples,
but they give you a feel for how you can combine the various
themes within a birth chart.
