George Blahusiak has been trained in maths and the physical sciences, accounting, economics, performance appraisal, project management, resolving conflicts and setting professional standards, on-line real time operating systems, databases, been there done that as a computer consultant, auditor, systems analyst, and programmer, and has worked in the aerospace and defense, manufacturing, and astronomical research both in and out of the Public Service.

He also owned and successfully managed his own business for five years. He is a former Apexian (member of the Board of Directors), the Optical Society of America, the Conservation Council of Western Australia, (member of the Executive), the Astronomical Society of Australia, the Astronomical Society of Western Australia (council member).

He is a compassionate man with a sense of humor, some say dry, indeed, almost arid, but a sense of humor none-the-less, engages in public debate on topics of interest to the community and can quote Julius Caesar, Shakespeare, Aristotle, Harold Robbins, or the Bureau of Statistics with equal ease. Passers by on the street have often stopped him to say that his comments on public issues are an intelligent breath of fresh air in an atmosphere too often polluted by people with a vested interest. A psychological appraisal (available to interested parties) confirms these assessments.

On a personal level he follows the teachings of Aristotle, believing that the actions of an intelligent man must be directed to a positive, i.e., good end, without rationalizing. His clients are equally complimentary, saying...
