COMPUTERS, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE and ETHICS
ABSTRACT
The origins of computing examined and shown to extend back in time for more years than has generally been recognized. The works of early systems analysts discussed. Comparisons made between early design, analysis, programming, and maintenance procedures and present efforts. Definitions of 'artificial intelligence' discussed. That artificial intelligence is an oxymoron. Applicability of early definitions to present efforts discussed. A supreme requirement of intelligence, and its applicability to 'artificial intelligence', and the efforts of present day computer professionals put forward.
