A large (300 mm) high speed (f/0.6) camera
ABSTRACT
The use of image tubes with high speed cameras of Intermediate size, F/0.6 - F/2, 15 - 25 cm aperture. Is characterized by large obstruction ratios and small unvignetted fields. Optical systems of three elements based on a design by Burch and with reduced obstruction ratios are described and the optical performance of these systems is given. A solution is also proposed for the adoption of the more conventional systems now in use to image tube systems by means of transfer optics. Finally, the problems of design and manufacture of both types of systems and the possible solutions to some of these problems are given.
