Tarranyurk South SS 3087
The Tarranyurk South State School was located on a site about 11 kms south east of Tarranyurk, and was opened in January 1891.
The school was closed in December 1915, but was reopened in May 1922 when the West Cannum school was moved to the site.
A new school was built in 1937 (the old school was destroyed by fire when the new one was completed!), and was used until its closure in February 1948.

This is the only known picture from the Tarranyurk South school, and we don’t know the names of the students. Do you know anyone in this picture?
The only know remnant from the Tarranyurk South school is the flagpole. This currently stands at the front of the old Tarranyurk school site (now being used by the CFA), next to the CFA shed.
The Tarranyurk South school flagpole now located next to the CFA shed.
