Moose's Tooly Birds
|
These cereal toys appeared in Australia in the Uncle Tobys Kids Pack, in 1997. I can't believe I missed them! They are not a patch on the original R&L Tooly Birds, though. They are molded from a flexible plastic and are quite roughly finished, but they are still an interesting set.
It seems that there was some problem deciding how to spell "Tooly"! On the box, Uncle Tobys spelt it as "Tooly", but the manufacturer of the toys, Moose Enterprise, spelt it as "Tooley" in their writing on the wrappers. This is one of the few non-R&L series that I would like to collect. If anyone is swapping (or selling) these, please let me know...

These Tooly Birds have also been released in America as, I think, gumball machine toys. They are different colours to the Australian ones, and also have "Hong Kong" printed on them (the Australian ones do not have any printing on them) - and yet another spelling for "Tooly"!
