We are traveling through the mid-north region of South Australia taking photographs and finding out information. The places we include in our register are ruined and abandoned homes.
During the mid to late 19th century there was a building boom in this region when land was allocated for agricultural purposes.
When it became apparent that the land could not support so many people on such small parcels of land the settlers left the land and the homes they built.   For many reasons the homes fell into a poor state of repair and they are fast disappearing from the landscape.

We are trying in some small way to record and preserve the heritage of these early settlers.
