The ships log:

Port Stephens March 2005.

The RnR (Rock and roll) is an event organised by the committee of the New South Wales Sea Kayaking Club each year. I had never been to one of these events but this year had the opportunity to attend.
Around 115 kayakers descended on Jimmy's beach Caravan park Nelsons bay for four days to participate in many Sea Kayaking activities. Some paddles. Education, demonstrations, competitions etc.

The committee who organised this event and the club sponsors should be congratulated.

Arrived on Saturday set up camp and planned my paddle for Sunday so the week was;

Sunday - Paddled Solo from Jimmy's beach to Little Island then Cabbage Tree Island to Shoal bay and back. ~ 23km

Monday - Paddled with NSWSKA from Jimmy's beach to Fingal Spit return. ~ 15 km

Tuesday ~ Paddled with Paul, Ian, Lyn and Bruce from Jimmy's beach to Marine Park for a snorkle then onto Cabbage Tree Island with Paul and Ian return 20 km - a slow headwind paddle but fast on the return.

Wednesday -Jimmy's beach around Corrie Island (not shown) to Orungail point across to Corlette point return ~ 22 km

Thursday - Lots of rain and forecast of gale force wind warning called it quits.

I will be back to this wonderfull area.
