The Great Lakes Caravan Park is one easy place to launch the Kayaks. With water front accommodation, packing for the weekend is easy.

Navigation through the Oyster leases can be a bit of a challenge and a good bearing on the exit point from the Caravan park is recommended as finding your way back after two days can be a little confusing. There are 3 main options for an overnight camp on the Western side of the river. The first one has easy access with a shelter shed and grassy flat camp ground. The second one (a further 5km) has poor access (mud) and no shelter but acceptable flat ground. The third one at the top of the river has excellent camping ground and amenities water and toilet, However this has the worst access in a Kayak due to the 4 meter steep river bank.
