Pharmaceutical Applications
Synopsis:
Colloid and surface science is playing an increasingly important
role in many aspects of pharmaceutical development and formulation,
including pharmaceutical solids characterization; pharmaceutical
suspension processing; controlled release from colloidal particles
(micelles, microemulsions, liposomes, others); mesoporous
materials for controlled drug release; therapeutic interactions
at biological surfaces; colloidal therapeutic proteins; and
novel polymers and dendrimers in drug delivery. Papers are
sought from researchers studying the fundamentals of these
areas as well as the applied colloid science aspects, with
a focus on identifying and discussing the unsolved problems
for which colloid science may hold the solution.
