Abstract Submission

We invite abstract submissions for contributed oral papers and poster submissions in the following areas:

Abstract Submission Deadlines

Contributed oral abstract submissions closed on September 14, 2008.

(Note that prizes will be awarded for the best posters presented by students or postdocs). Limit of 70 posters in 2 sessions (35 posters per session). Limit one poster per submitter.

Abstracts submission for Plenary/Invited Lectures is still open.

Abstract Submission Summary Procedure

  1. You will need to register your contact details to enable abstract submission. NOTE: This is a separate procedure from the Conference registration.

    • Enter Abstract Submission System.

    • For initial submissions, go to "Click here" within the red box.

    • Enter your email address

    • Enter a password (case sensitive)

    • Enter the required contact details

    • Click Send.

  2. You will soon receive an email confirming your username (email address) and password, and containing three attached files called template.doc, instructions.doc and ACIS_Sample_Abstract.doc.

  3. Open the template.doc file and type your Title into the first box and your Abstract into the second box, following the formatting instructions that are given.

    • Title: 14-point Arial with the first letter of important words capitalized.

    • Abstract: 12-point Arial.

    • Figures: Figures or equations may be included within the Abstract file.

    • References: ACS format. Endnote should not be used.

    • DO NOT include author names and affiliations in the Template.

  4. Return to the Abstract submission section of the WATOC 2008 web site and log in using your email address and password. You will be given an opportunity to attach/upload your edited Abstract Template, using the Browse button. Tick other boxes as appropriate. Click the "Next" button.

  5. Add affiliation(s) and ALL authors of the Abstract. Click the "Next" button. Indicate who the presenting author will be.

  6. If you are a Plenary or Invited Lecturer, tick the appropriate box. Otherwise, select poster, contributed oral or either.

  7. Specify the subject category of your presentation.

  8. Click "Finish"
