The rich interactions between biomolecules and cells with surfaces create areas of exploration for advancing the fundamental knowledge of living systems as well as new opportunities for applied biotechnology. This theme will explore these interactions including experimental and theoretical contributions of life science research applied the study of colloids and interfaces. Analytical techniques investigating the physico-chemical interactions of biomolecules and cells at the interface are particularly relevant. In addition, contributions from applied life sciences research, including innovations in biomaterials, biosensing, and drug delivery, are encouraged.
