__/ Hunters \_________________________________________________________________

The Basics:

The Maverick Hunters are a group that formed around the primary role
to protect the world from any evil that might arise; be it Robot Masters,
Mavericks, or any other force.
They are led primarily by Doctor Light's creation Rock (more commonly
known as Mega Man), but with the help of his best friend Zero and
Dr. Cain's creation Signas. The group is made up of Reploids, Hybrids,
Androids, and Humans who have banded together to fight for freedom and
life.
The primary goal of most Maverick Hunters is of course pretty obvious:
To stop the Maverick Virus and those infected by it. This doesn't keep
them from stopping the Robot Masters as well though. Both groups are
viewed as equals in the purpose of taking over the world and subjugating
the Human and/or Reploid Races.
As a rule of thumb, the Maverick Hunters are the best of the
best. They are the specialists and the ones best trained to do their
jobs. They also are completely unaffiliated with any government, country,
or military entity; which allows them to operate outside such restrictions
and do what needs to be done to protect lives and freedom.

The Ranks:

While their is some structure to the Hunters, the ranks are extremely
loose and no where near any form of Military structure. Each Hunter is
put within one of the few squads that best utilizes their talents and
speciality. The squads are led usually the most seasoned Hunters or those
with the most potential, and they in turn answer to Rock, Zero, and Signas.
Dr. Light remains with his own unique authority as the founder of the
Hunters as well as a respected scientist in the field. Finally, Protoman,
while possessing nearly the rank of a squad leader, is rarely ever
seen and even more rarely exercises his authority.

Currently the Squads are split up into the following:

Phoenixflame and Dragonstar: The Combat Squads lead by Michael Eildath and
Arafina respectively. These are the squads usually at the fore front
of any engagements the Hunters are involved in.
Corsair: The Specialized Raid and Hit & Fade Squad. Currently led by Ether
Skunk. This is the squad sent in to get a job done that might
require a bit more silence to start with, but with a bang at the
        end.
Zatoichi: The Special Operations squad. Currently led by Jack. This is the
squad sent in to do things completely quietly, to gather information,
or generally be the spies and saboteurs.
Caduceus and Molniya: The Medical and Research & Development squads. These
are the squads led by Doctor Light and Doctor Cossack respectively.
This is where all the newest 'Hunter Toys' come from for the rest of
        the Hunters to use.

While there is to be a small amount of rivalry for leadership expected,
the Maverick Hunters are in their positions generally by consensus and
recognition of their skills. Insubordination is considered unacceptable,
and loyalty to the group is paramount to the cause. As such, any Maverick
Hunter who deliberately endangers the lives of others will be dealt with
harshly. Also, while 'gumbies' certainly exist to take care of the daily
maintenance of the faction, no member of the Maverick Hunters is considered
expendable or a mere tool, insofar as the group is concerned (of course,
this doesn't mean your character individually might not like another
Hunter).

The Maverick Virus:

The Maverick Hunters regularly come into contact with those who carry
the Maverick Virus, but it is /highly/ unlikely a Hunter would ever contract
the Virus. As by their very definition as Maverick Hunters, they are here
to protect life, both Human and Reploid, even though some might not like
one or the other. As some are Androids, such as Roll, Blues, and Auto,
they are of course naturally immune to the Virus.
Those that are reploids within the Maverick Hunters are equally as
unlikely to ever be infected; given the primary reason for becoming a
Maverick is sharing Sigma's belief that humans are to be subjugated or
outright exterminated--the very thing that the Hunters exist to prevent.
Any Maverick Hunter character who wishes to try and become infected with
the Virus needs to inform the Maverick Hunter Wizard and Royal /before/
attempting anything ICly as well as filling out a defection application and
talking with the Maverick Wizard. This will also be looked on with intense
scrutiny and most likely -NOT- be approved.

Relations with other Factions:

Masters and Mavericks: The Maverick Hunters are designed to hunt and
capture the members of these groups; groups they view as the embodiement
of oppression and evil. The Hunters exist specifically to keep both
groups from attaining their goal of world dominance, through both
defensive and offensive means.

Civilians: The primary goal of the Maverick Hunters is to protect
these (mostly) innocent bystanders. Any Maverick Hunter is expected to be
willing to sacrifice his/her life to save the life of an innocent, human
or reploid. While individual Maverick Hunters may have differing feelings
towards civilian humans or reploids, the Hunters exist to protect them at
all costs.

Repliforce: Loosely allied with this military organization, the
Maverick Hunters sometimes find themselves forced to act outside legal
means and government-sanctioned activities. This inevitably aggravates the
tension that exists between Repliforce and the Hunters. And while at times
this tension can lead to periods of non-alignment between the two groups,
it rarely if ever escalates into open hostilities. Though has on several
occasions.

Guidelines:

To start, please check on the Maverick Hunter website for up-to-date
information regarding Overdone/Underdone themes for characters, as well as
any other information regarding current News in the Hunters at:

                         News Hunter Policy

Due to the IC responsibilities expected of Maverick Hunters, players
applying for FC or OC Maverick Hunter characters will be expected to be
able to RP accordingly. While most Maverick Hunters are fighters, a
variety of functions are necessary to balance the factions, such as medics
or communications specialists; any such characters are similarly expected
to display a high quality of RP.

Defecting from the Maverick Hunters is -NOT- allowed without explicit
permission of the faction's wizard and the staff of the faction the
characters wishes to defect to. Because becoming a Maverick Hunter is such
a difficult process ICly, characters are expected to have weighed such
matters beforehand. In other words, the Hunters aren't likely to admit
those who have doubts or reservations.

Conclusion:

If you have any additional questions, please page an online Maverick
Hunter staff member or @mail Procyon or Spica with your email address and
question. If you wish to apply for a Maverick Hunter, please read 'News
Application' and send a copy to hunterapps@hotmail.com. While OC Hunters
will be allowed, greater justification must be given for approval. Also note
that if we become flooded with Hunter OCs, we may be forced to limit them.
