Very little of the original wiring remains in its original state many alterations have been made over the
years to keep it all working. The fuel pump is siezed, wiper motors missing/broken and the loom wiring is
in need of replacement. The wiring loom from a donor vehicle/s will be disected to create a replacement.
Obtaining enough core colors and the correct plugs is not possible any other way. The connections to the
electrical equipment to be retained (very little) will be soldered inside at the final terminal to remove
all of the old wiring.

Original wiring under the bonnet shows its age.

To convert from positive to negative earth is very simple on any vehicle. Disconnect the battery and rotate
it 180 degrees. Re-connect the earth strap to the negative terminal, the lead may need to be lengthened. Swap
the 2 coil wires so negative now connects to the distributer points and swap the 2 ammeter wires. Disconnect the
small wire connected to "F" (field) on the generator then connect the terminal to the battery positive
momentarily 2-3 times and then reconnect the original wire. Now the lead from the starter should be connected to
the positive battery terminal.
A bosch alternator with an internal regulator will replace the generator and a different ignition system will be
used. The EFI loom from the Camira includes all of the connections for the alternator and the ignition system so
only the ammeter and battery polarity will need to be changed. The new EFI loom will be mated to bits and pieces
of the old loom until the new main loom is fitted at the appropriate stage of the full rebuild of the land rover.

The under bonnet section of the Camira loom will be modified to fit.

All of the tape was removed from the main trunk of the loom with the branches remaining untouched.
The starter lead is reversed to suit the battery and starter locations. The wiring to the ignition system is
parted out from the main trunk to reach to the new distributer location on the other side of the motor.
Tape the branch junctions from the trunk to hold everything in place while the loom is retaped.
Use good quality tape that is pliable wrapping the cables tightly. At each end turn the tape sticky up for a
couple of wraps (25mm) and then turn sticky down to finish. This ensures the ends do not become unstuck and
unravel prematurely from exposure to heat and oil.
