Katanga's Lag B'omer Function 2000

The Lag B'omer Bonfire celebration at Caulfield Beth Hamedrash was a huge success. A record crowd of over 500 people enjoyed the bonfire, double-decker Gym Bus, Go Carts, lively music and BBQ. Glow in the dark door prizes for the first 50 kids proved a great treat.

Children and adults of all ages then settled down to watch the entertainer juggle and breathe fire.

The evening was capped off with an uplifting Kumsitz and Divrei Torah focussing on the spiritual significance of Lag B'Omer. Kumsitz guitarists were Ari Bergman, Barak Begleiter and Menchi Shneir. Divrei Torah and stories around the fire were given by Rabbi Meir Rabi and Yisroel Alter Pacanowski. Singing, dancing and heartwarming melodies lasted well into the night.

Special thanks to Chana Franck, Jordy Elkus, Shani Slodowitz, Havi Samuel, Shani Shimon and Miriam Pacanowski for organising this super event. Thanks also to Moshe Shimon, Yirmi Elkus, Eli Franck, Izzy Pacanowski, Barak Begleiter, Ezra May, Mendy Slodowitz and Zac Abeles for their help.

Well done to all!
