The Life and Times of Yankel Kricher

Part 1

Yankel Kricher, a natural born red, stood proud and tall at all kiddushim. He adorned every table and was the master of ceremony. He told the President when to talk, and the gabbi when to clup when things got to noisey. Along with Herschel the Herring, he ruled the festivities week in week out.

The other bottles were busy as usual under Yankels directions cleaning up the kitchen for when Herschels mob arrived. Yankel was very busy confirming arrivals times for the chips, the pickles and the cakes, ensuring that fresh supplies of whisky and vodka arrived on time.

Long before it was Erev Shabbos there were rumours going around that this weeks Kiddush, the biggest the shule had seen in a long while, was going to be different. Yankel couldn't ignore the rumours any longer.
