Adriana (Tas)
Adriana has over 20 years of belly dance experience. Tasmanian dancers have been fortunate enough to have her here for sixteen of them.
Her school, now known as "Bellywood" has been the starting point for many of the teachers around the state.
Her classes attract women from all walks of life and Adriana feels she is greatly blessed to have met them.
Adriana's goal is to have even the most uncoordinated students leave class with a sense of achievement.

Is there a move that's 'bugging' you? That you just can't quite achieve?
Or
maybe you're just not 100% sure you're doing it correctly. Here's your
opportunity to revisit some basics moves
and their variations. Some layering will be covered.
Participants are
encouraged to write down any particular moves that they would like to cover on
their enrolment form.

Building Choreography Skills
(All levels)
In this informative workshop, Cathryn will run through a range of exercises
designed to help participants develop and realise their choreographic skills.
These skills can also be used for improvisation.
This is a three hour workshop with a fifteen minute break in the middle (1 1/2
hours tuition either side of break).
Backbends, Balance and Arabesques
(All levels)
Backbends are an integral part of belly dance, yet often neglected because of
safety concerns. The variation each of us can do safely depends on our
core
abdominal and back strength, and back flexibility.
Cathryn will lead the class safely through exercises to build
core strength and gentle back stretches.
Balance exercises that build core
strength take us into arabesques.
Wear leggings and bring a towel or mat.
There are notes provided, outlining backbend safety.
Becky Lamb (Tas)
Becky has created costumes for theatre productions, SCA enthusiasts and belly
dancers.
She is a favourite with beginner students due to her ability to
explain, in easy to understand terms, the creation of stunning costumes.
Costume Making - Decorating Bras
(all levels)
This workshop will be an informal talk with some costume preparation. Becky
will explain many dos and don’ts
of covering a performance bra.
And those sticky questions - to pad or not to
pad?
And if yes, then where exactly for the best cleavage?
Bring scissors, pins, bra, base material to cover your bra (pref stretchy) and
any items you want to
embellish it with (beaded scarf, belt, tribal pendant,
fringing etc).
If you're not sure what you want to cover your bra with, you'll pick up plenty
of ideas. Suitable for all dance styles.
