Workshops with Zahira at Port Sorell - Aug 30th 2008
Zahira will be teaching two workshops - a Performance Skills workshop and a Drum Solo workshop. Later on that night, Robyn Flude will be holding her student hafla in Devonport. For details email Zahira.
Workshops with Melusina and Halloween Hafla - May 10th and 11th 2008
Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the workshops and hafla. What a great weekend it was! I was so very pleased with the audience who came to the hafla - witches, a mummy, warlocks, fairies, Elvis, a bogan, Yoda, fairies - we had them all! I now hope to make the Halloween Hafla a yearly event.
A raffle was run on the night with proceeds going to the Tas MED Fest. $40 was raised.

Sahira 2009
In May 2006, Sahira of Texas visited Tasmania for a floorshow and a weekend of workshops. She wowed everyone at the floorshow with her technique and style and kept it up throughout the workshops. Sahira taught technique and skirt moves on the Saturday and then a fun choro to Ali on the Sunday, using many of the moves from the day before.
I hope to have Sahira returning in 2009 for the Tasmanian Middle Eastern Dance Festival. I currently have a raffle going to raise funds to bring her here. Tickets are 50 cents each or five for $2. First prize is a choice of a beautiful, ornate silver coloured box or a black, patterned coin scarf. Second prize is the item left over. Please email Zahira if you can help with selling the tickets.
Change to Online Catalogue
As the definition of a Tribal costume is constantly expanding, Tribal items are now included in the main categories of the online catalogue. Eg: DVDs, Necklaces, Ear Rings etc.
New to Bazaar - fishnet tops. Only $58.95 up to a size 22. Full length sleeves or 3/4.
Also a midriff fishnet top with an off the shoulder look. Sleeves join at bottom of arm pit and go down to a loop over middle finger. Also $58.95 - up to a size 16.
