Suggested Overnight Backpack / Bushwalk Equipment List
This list of equipment is intended to help a walker cater for overnight or extended bushwalk's.
The list is derived from personal military experience and bushwalking both as a solo walker and walking with individuals and clubs.
Please remember that this meets "my requirements", yours may differ.
I also travel light, dispensing with cooking and take dehydrated meals prepared at home and expect an overnight pack to be around 11.5 kg including 2/3 litres of water.
The pack should not exceed 20% of your total body weight, especially for women who might consider sharing equipment and tents to reduce the load.
