Our Endangered Oceans
(Grades 3-6 in Vic) (3-7 in SA)

In this show we explore some of the troubles that are occurring in our oceans. We look at the concepts of ‘extinct’ and ‘endangered’, and show some of the reasons that various species are put at risk.  We focus on endangered species such as turtles, whales, dolphin, sharks and others, and look at some of the things we can all do to try and keep the populations of these animals viable.  Some of man’s bad ecological practices, such as different forms of pollution and unsustainable fishing practises are discussed.  We look at some of the introduced species, such as the North Pacific Seastar, that are invading our waters and making our own species vulnerable. We also look at some of the success stories that have happened, where previously endangered species are now on the comeback, and target species that we must watch now and in the future.
