Session Length: 1.5 hours. (2 Grades)
Prep/Rec Session: 1 hour. (1 Grade)
40-70 Students per session, except for straight
Prep/Rec sessions.
With each presentation we start with an audio-visual
about the topic, then split the students into groups of about four and rotate
them around the displays. They have a
booklet with them full of activities which are completed as they work their way
around the displays. The displays help
the pupils to complete the activity in their booklet. We provide a sample copy of this booklet for
schools to photocopy, and different grades have different booklets and
activities. Most sessions end with
another short audio-visual and some question time. Prep-2 Sessions have the children rotating
around 12 activities, whilst the middle and upper grades have between 17-19,
depending on the show.

Cost: See current flyer or give us a call or an e-mail.
Session Details: 40-70 Children per 1˝ hour sessions for Grades 3-7. 40-55 for Grades P-2. This is based on having two grades at a time. Straight Prep/Rec sessions are in grade groups for an hour, (minimum numbers here do not apply), or they can be mixed in with Grade Ones and Twos for the 1˝ hour session. Straight Prep/Rec sessions are conducted as an exploratory session. Sessions can be of mixed grades if required. (eg. P-2, 3-7). A minimum of two sessions in a day is required unless otherwise arranged.
More than one show?: We can bring more than one show at a time, so if the junior school wants a different show to the senior school, this is possible. We cannot, however, fit Our Southern Seas in with Our Endangered Oceans. Any other combination is not a problem. We would need approximately an hour to change from one show to another.
Timetabling requirements: A space approximately the size of a double classroom is required. This may be the library, a hall, a gym, or any other space. A minimum of half an hour is required between sessions if different levels are scheduled to follow each other. If more than one Level 1 session they should be timetabled back-to-back in a two hour session if possible.
How to Book: Telephone us to arrange a
suitable date, and then fax us a Booking Sheet.
This sheet can be printed from the link on the main menu. We will send you a booking sheet by fax or by
e-mail if required.
You will Receive: A faxed confirmation of your
booking. Two weeks before the start of
the term that you have booked you will receive a package containing details to help
with your Term Planning, pre-activity worksheets for your use, and Work
Booklets to be run off for use on the day.
On arrival your presenter will hand your contact person follow up
worksheets for use after the session.
