FAQ’S
Will I act like a chicken? This is probably the most asked question, because most people’s experience of Hypnosis comes from stage or TV shows. The simple answer is only if YOU want to.
Can you make me do anything silly that will embarrass me? NO a Hypnotist cannot make you do anything you do not want to.
Can anyone be hypnotised? Anyone with a normal ability to concentrate or follow very basic instrustions can be hypnotised through the appropriate method. Some people are simply more susceptible than others and can be hypnotised easier and more quickly than others.
Can you make me do anything I do not want to? Again NO a Hypnotist cannot make you do anything you do not want to. You are always in control not the Hypnotist.
Will I give away any special secrets under Hypnosis? NO a Hypnotist cannot make you say or do anything you do not want to say or do.
Can Hypnosis make me remember bad things that I do not want to? No. But if we are dealing with trauma type situations then there are ways of avoiding re-living the trauma that lead to a beneficial manner of overcoming them.
Is it safe, are there any side effects? Clinical Hypnosis, or Hypnotherapy, is perfectly safe; there are no side effects because there are no drugs involved. A trained professional can make this a most natural and beneficial experience.
Can I get stuck in a trance if something happened to the therapist? No, the only two things that could happen is that you would just simply wake up by yourself or you would drift off into a natural sleep and wake up a little while later after a very pleasant nap.
I find it very hard to relax? The ability to relax and the ability to experience Hypnosis are not related. If you want to make a change it will happen.
Do I have to have a good imagination? No, just a desire and willingness to make a change.
If I am strong minded and strong willed can I be hypnotised or would I resist? If you want to be hypnotised you will be. Being strong willed means you have a strong concentration, so why would you resist the efforts of a therapist who you are paying for help?
What is psychotherapy? It is simply therapy of the mind, or by questioning techniques, we arrive at the cause of the problem, in order to fix it
