My dear friend Pete
 

I would very much like you all to meet my very special friend Pete. I met Pete on the Internet a few years ago, when we were introduced by a mutual friend. Pete lives all the way in Johannesburg, South Africa, a long way from where I live in Melbourne, Australia, however by this amazing medium of the Internet we were able to establish our very special friendship. As with all Internet friendships there is a distinct possibility that we shall never sit in the same room together as most friends have the opportunity to do.

 

Pete is not only my dear friend he is my Mentor. He taught me everything I know about Web Page Designing and Graphic Making. He taught me via E-mailing, and through our many chats on ICQ (a chat programme). He was patient, kind and understanding. It is not an easy prospect to teach someone such a complex art in this manner.

 

I have created this page for you Pete as a thank you for giving me such a wonderful way of expressing my artistic ability.  You have opened up such a new world, and interest for me that I would not have had if it were not for you.

 

You have not only been there for me in my learning, but you have been there as a special friend when at times I have been going through some enormous sadness and disappointments, but you have also been there in sharing my happy times. If it hand't been for your amazing Group "Pete's Group", I would never have met my to be gorgeous husband Ray!

 

I will never be able to repay you for all your many kindnesses to me over the years. I just hope that I have been the best of friend to you as you have to me.

 

I asked you what your favourite song is, and you told me it was this one that is playing now, "The Power of Love" by Jennifer Rush, and  I thought how applicable, the power of love between two friends who live so far away from one another.

 

I hope you like your page Pete, you gave me the ability to create it, and I thank you again from the bottom of this little 'Aussie' girls heart.
