What is Spirit
(written by
Maggie)
My
lovely friend Terry whom I mentioned on my opening page looked into my
soul and wrote for me the most beautiful poem, which he has kindly given
me permission to share with you all. Thank you Terry, my 'Knight', from
the bottom of my heart.
Maggie's
Theme
Dreams
shattered, nightmares haunting
Physical,
emotional abuse, spirit low
Lonely
sad, depressed, hope flickers
Then
rekindles, spirit survived, rebuilding anew
Friends
are there, some unlooked for
Life
turns around; illness and pain are constant companions
I
carry on spirit high and strong
Dreams
rebuilt, living as I choose
Not
others choosing, helping others in what way I can
To
love, hope and have faith anew
Others
who are suffering as I knew
I
am me, Maggie, Hello.

This
Poem was also written by Terry for me, thank you my "Knight"
Touched
by an Angel
In
this world there are achievers and movers
but
there are those who are quiet achievers
and
humble in spirit and in heart, they are few and far
between,
for when you meet one you will know
as
I have, and am humbled by her strength of spirit
she
walks with angels, and everyone should read her words
for
she is a quiet achiever and an angel
awards
can be given but she only needs one
award,
and that is her friendship, and I am blessed
to
have hers, my angel, the world is a far more a
richer
place with you in it.

Terry
wrote the following poem for and about me very recently. He understands more
than most that my life is somewhat fragile.
He has captured the essence of me. Thank you Terry once again. What would I do
without "My Knight"
Miss
Me-But Let Me Go
When
I come to the end of the road
and
the sun has set for me
I want
no rites in a gloom filled room,
why
cry for a soul that has been set free
Miss
me a little, but not too long
and
not with your head bowed low
remember
the love we once shared
we
take it with us
miss
me but let me go
For
this is a journey the we must all take
and
each must go alone
it's
all a part of the master's plan
a
step on the road home
when
you are lonely
go
to the friends that you know
and
bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
miss
me -but let me go

This
one is for you - Terry My Knight
God
smiled on me the night I met my Knight
Seemingly
by accident he rode into my life in the wee hours of the morning.
He
lived at that time only in cyber-space.
Something
though about his gentle way and the wisdom of his words told me I could
trust him with my very soul.
I
poured my heart out to him, and we shared together some of our inner most
thoughts.
He
has comforted me, and kept me from drowning in the depths of the
insecurity of murky waters.
How
can I repay him, I fear I cannot.
I
write this for him now with love and affection and the desire that I may
be there for him someday in his darkest hours.
It
was no accident that he rode into my life – it was fate.
You
are My Knight, now and forever.
Lovingly
Your
Angel

The
following was written many years ago when I thought my life was over and I
was struggling to find the meaning to my life once again.
Alone
I
sit alone in front of my window, watching life passing
Have
I come so far only to find that the struggle was all in vain
What
was the driving force that kept me struggling endlessly
Reaching
beyond my dreams, and why now has my courage
Left
me, hurtling me back towards insecurity
Let
me regain my courage and strength
To
find that God given sense of self-preservation
For
without that goal we as humans are lost
Let
me not be lost, but find that bright warming,
Comforting
light at the end of my quest,
For
if not total happiness, then a feeling of inner peace.

I wrote
the following poem only recently, poetry is not exactly my forte, but this
came to me one afternoon during a moment of quiet reflection.
Can
Heaven Wait
Do
I dare to dream
Do
I dare to love
Do
I dare to trust the one I love
Do
I dare to hope my love is returned
and that my heart will not be burned.
Do
I dare to wait for the love that can't wait,
my life is passing, it may come too late.
Do
I dare reach out and take the one
or ever be silent and pray he'll come.
For
you I will dream
For
you I will trust, and
For
you I will wait
'till we reach heaven's gate.
For
it is you my darling, the one that I love.

I
have the following poem on my page, for no other reason than I just love
it.
HOW
SHALL I HOLD MY SOUL?
How
shall I hold my soul, that it may not be touching yours?
How
shall I lift it then above you to where other things are waiting?
Ah,
gladly would I lodge it, all-forgot, with some lost thing, the dark is
isolating
on
some remote and silent spot, that, when your depths vibrate, is not itself
vibrating.
You
and me – all that lights upon us, though, brings us together like a
fiddle-bow
drawing
one voice from two strings it glides along.
Across
what instruments have we been spanned?
And
what violinist holds us in his hand?
O
sweetest song.

Maria Rilke
‘Possibility
of Being’
The
man of words sits looking at his screen
His
fingers are poised ever so delicately on his keyboard,
His
mind is wandering to the time that they shared together.
What
is he going to say to her?
He
lovingly types each word carefully
He
feels as he does so that he is caressing her again
With
each and every word he writes.
This
time however, he knows her.
He
can smell the scent of her, and is familiar with the woman within her.
He
remembers the touch of her hand, the gentle kiss on his lips,
The
softness of her skin.
He
wonders if she is feeling with the same intensity.
The
moment had surprised him.
He
imagines her reading his words that he will send in only a few short
moments.
He
knows that she will sigh longingly as she reads them, as she has always
done.
He
knows only too well that she too is a woman of words
They
step together in tune with one another, word for word like a symphony.
Their
words allow them to communicate their innermost thoughts
For
it is their words that first drew them together.
The
question still remains however, where will they lead them?

This
following poem was written for me by a new dear friend "The Man of
Words" - I thank him very much. It will always be very special to me,
and it brought a tear to my eye.
Maggie
I
press the buzzer at her door
a
bark, a whirr, a welcome smile
inside
I step, a greeting kiss
I’ll
stay here for a while
A
woman of great courage
wisdom,
trust and love
dealt
a bad hand from the start
but
never needs a shove
Her
legs don’t have the strength
no
forward step she takes
but
unlike the weaker in our midst
no
backward step she makes
It’s
though she’s always sat there
observing,
hearing all
and
now she has great wisdom
compassion
- standing tall
A
pleasure to be a friend of hers
with
whom to share life’s dreams
her
emotional battery never dies
or
so it never seems.

YOU
You
came into my life like a soft breeze in the newness of the morning
You
breathed new life into my tired and aching heart
You
gave me back belief that had been shattered
You
wooed me with your poetic words
You
filled my life with tender romance
You
had my body, and you captured a piece of this precious heart
You
made me believe in me again
You
were here, but as quietly as you entered my life, you left
Now
I am here, and wondering why?
Why
did you come, and why did you leave, when we had only just begun
I
have no answers - just a tired and weary heart.

Once
again my "Knight" has written two beautiful poems for me, such a
lucky girl I am to have found such a sweet man to be my friend.
FOREVER
FRIENDS
As long as the sun shines, we will be friends
when periods of doubt, and feeling down come over me
I think of you and like magic the clouds disappear.
The thought of your warm smile gladdens my heart
to know you care even when you are not there.
It is a special person that can be a true friend
and you are that friend , through thick and thin
in good times and bad we are there for each other.
This world can be a very trying place
I just want you to know that this world is
a much more interesting place with you in it.
We are friends forever, and forever friends
no matter where life takes you be happy
and know that you are in my thoughts often.

MY
ANGEL TRUE
Like gossamer shining in the sun,
her hair is radiant
Like gold of the sun that is in her smile
Like warmth of a welcoming fire is in her smile
Like velvet is her friendship that fits like a snug glove
Like a rainbow is in her very soul
This my friend , my true friend
my angel true
My angel on her chariot of fire.

TODAY
Today you walked out of my life once again
Today you did not feel the pain in me you caused
Today you did not see the tears I cried for you in vain
Today you you did not hear me cry out your name
Today my life has past me by again without a second glance
Today my dreams are shattered in pieces on the floor never to be dreamed again.
Today I realized I cannot live a day without me hearing your voice.
Today I know I have to get on with my life, even though I don't know how!
Please tell me how I can live through "Today"

My Little Friend
- Goodbye
My little friend true and dear
A part of my life year after year
Your little face and trusting eyes
We never liked to say goodbyes
Sadly now my little friend the time has come
When your time on earth is now done
I have to say my final goodbye to you now
but I honestly do not know how
My heart is breaking, my head is hung low
We will be together again one day though, this I know!

WHEN LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH
What do you do when your heart is breaking?
What do you do when you realize your most sacred dreams and plans you
made together will not come true?
What do you do when your heart knows one thing
but your head tells you the opposite?
What do you do when you miss being held by that special someone you love?
What do you do when every being of you wants to be with that person again?
What do you do to stop yourself from reaching out and making it a reality
again,
knowing that you cannot?
What do you do when you want to say " I love you still"; and
How do you tell him that, "sometimes love is just not enough"?

Broken Promises
A promise is sacred and given by your heart.
Never make a promise lightly, or one that you never intend to keep
The promise to receiver believes you with their whole heart.
With the breaking of that promise you can literally break a vulnerable heart.
I give my heart, I give my soul, I give my love, but never break a promise.
For I will never break a promise to you.

What is
Spirit
Inner Spirit is so
difficult to describe. I believe that the power of "Spirit" is in all of
us, deep inside. Often times when our lives are in turmoil, our hearts
are broken, or when serious illness strikes us or the reality of death
may descend upon us.
Perhaps we are
unable to see a future or happiness. We may be fighting our deepest and
darkest foes. It is then that we begin our search, our quest deep within
ourselves to find that place, that core which is "Spirit" that makes us
human.
When we have found it, it will shine through like a beacon for all
to gaze upon, and give us the courage and the strength to battle through.
We will use it to fight and win, but if the Good Lord has other plans for
us, it gives us great knowledge and a quiet acceptance to deal with all
that befalls us.
The
Spirit is in us all!
This is
my belief.
